Business Advisory Program Schedule for February and March

The Chamber’s Business Advisory Program provides a service for our members through which members can seek advisement from designated business advisors in areas such as law, accounting, finance, business development and planning, marketing and social media, sales, commercial insurance, and more.

This business resource is available to our Classic and Premier level members. The following are the business advisors schedules for February and March. Please contact the Chamber for more information and to schedule your 30 minute session.

Rick Dumas: Thursday, March 28, 2013 - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Dumas is an accountant with HHH CPA Group. Mr. Dumas is a CPA with a wealth of business knowledge acquired primarily with small businesses. Mr. Dumas’ specific expertise includes financial statements, working with banks, income tax issues and business valuation.

Kevin Fix: Thursday, February 21, 2013 - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Thursday, March 7, 2013 - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Fix is Managing Principal of Newhaven Capital Advisors, an independent provider of financial planning, business consulting and investment management services. As a CPA with extensive experience in company financial management, Mr. Fix is well-qualified to serve the unique financial needs of entrepreneurs and small business owners. Mr. Fix can help with big-picture issues based on your personal and business goals, including business plan development, financing alternatives and planning for retirement or business succession, while also providing guidance on day-to-day operational issues, like financial performance, budgeting and cash flow management.

Rob Maccabee: Tuesday, February 5, 2013 -9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Thursday, March 14, 2013 - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Maccabee is president of Cliing, a company that provides mobile marketing solutions for growing businesses. Mr. Maccabee's competencies include innovative sales and market strategy development, competition analysis and product positioning, new business development and account management and client support. Mr. Maccabee can help with branding, marketing, sales/sales management, business planning, payment processing, retail credit card processing, e-commerce and mobile payments.

Wes Newhouse: Wednesday, February 13, 2013 - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Wednesday, March 6, 2013 - 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Mr. Newhouse is an experienced litigator and transactional attorney with Newhouse, Prophater, Letcher and Moots. The breadth of his jury trial experience extends to cases involving age discrimination, disability discrimination, discrimination on the basis of national origin, violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, violation of non-compete and confidentiality covenants, construction disputes, personal injury claims, property damage claims, and breach of contract. Mr. Newhouse has particular expertise in cases involving injunctive relief, such as employment discrimination, housing discrimination and disputes concerning non-compete and confidentiality agreements.

Mr. Newhouse also assists many of the firm's clients in the establishment of new business and charitable enterprises. He has often organized limited liability companies, Subchapter S corporations, partnerships, and 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations. He also counsels clients regarding employment and business-related issues, such as appropriate disciplinary procedures for employees, the development of employment policies and handbooks, and the negotiation of severance agreements.
